This online engineering PDH course describes the Clean Air Act. The Act was passed by Congress in 1970 and gave the newly created Environmental Protection Agency authority to clean up air pollution in the country. The course provides a brief introduction to the programs, philosophies, and policies in the Act. The control of air pollution from vehicles, the issue of acid rain, the reduction of toxic air pollutants, the protection of the ozone layer, and permitting and enforcement are all discussed.

He taught civil engineering for over 35 years, including six years at Washington University in St. Louis and 29 years at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he was the Chair of the Civil Engineering Department for ten years. His areas of expertise are in civil engineering and mechanics. He has consulted for various organizations, including government agencies and an international offshore drilling company.
