Intended for Hydraulic, Water Resources, Geotechnical, Civil, Environmental, and other engineers whose job description requires a general knowledge of stream hydraulic principles.

This course covers several topics related to and useful for stream hydraulics calculations, including: channel cross-section parameters; the Froude number and Reynolds number; the continuity, energy, and momentum equations; hydraulic computations for uniform flow, normal depth, and roughness coefficient determination; water surface profile calculation; weir flow; hydraulic jumps; and channel routing.
In this course, you need to review the material in the NRCS National Engineering Handbook, Part 654 Stream Restoration Design, Chapter 6 Stream Hydraulics, available at: https://directives.sc.egov.usda.gov/OpenNonWebContent.aspx?content=17782.wba
Once you complete your course review, you need to take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of fifteen (15) questions to earn 3 PDH credits. The quiz will be based on the entire document.
