Master the intersection of engineering science, safe field execution, and strategic management. Equip yourself to deliver compliant, high-value site projects from concept to closure.

Welcome to Practical Site Engineering: Science and Techniques, an extensive, seven‐hour course designed to equip construction professionals, engineers, and architects with the vital skills needed to manage site operations effectively. From the fundamental behavior of soils to advanced strategic program management, this course bridges the gap between tactical on-site execution and high-level project success. Understanding the complexities of site engineering is crucial not only for ensuring structural integrity and environmental compliance but also for safeguarding worker safety and maximizing the overall value of a project.
This engaging program dives deep into the daily challenges faced in site construction and capital projects. Participants will explore the intricate science of soils, mastering concepts like the texture triangle, moisture content, and structural behavior. The course also addresses critical environmental responsibilities through comprehensive guidance on Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Best Management Practices (BMPs). Transitioning into field safety and planning, you will learn how to mitigate hazards through the concept of Safety by Design, navigate strict OSHA excavation regulations, and accurately interpret site plans for earthwork quantification. Finally, the course elevates your perspective by introducing the principles of Construction Program Management, shifting your professional focus from simply tactical project management to strategic benefit realization.
By completing this course, you will be prepared to:
Whether you are looking to refine your technical site engineering capabilities or enhance your strategic leadership skills, Practical Site Engineering: Science and Techniques provides the comprehensive, real-world knowledge required to navigate modern construction environments safely, efficiently, and successfully.
